SUTV receives Emmy® nominations for live sports

Shippensburg University Television has received two collegiate Emmy® nominations from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

SUTV has the only two nominations in the college/university student production sports – live event category. The student media group was a winner in the same category in 2018 for “Mansfield at Shippensburg Men’s Basketball.”

Shippensburg is the only university in Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education to be nominated. Ship's Communication/Journalism program is also the only one in the State System with accreditation from the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications.

SUTV News produces a live news, weather and sports program every Thursday night at 7 p.m. that airs on Comcast channel 21 and campus channel 82. SUTV also produces and airs special events and sports contests.

The 2019 Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy® Awards ceremony will be held on September 28 at the Wyndham Grand Downtown in Pittsburgh.
