Welcome to Orientation

We hope you’re getting excited about the beginning of your collegiate journey at Shippensburg University! We are committed to creating an engaging learning environment at Ship. You will find many people here who will help you along the way, and many resources are available to assist you in reaching your goals.

Orientation is key to your successful journey at Ship. It is held on campus prior to the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. Besides creating your first semester class schedule, orientation is where you learn your way around campus, find out about all the amazing activities at Ship, and make new friends. To get the most out of Orientation, you need to come prepared.

The GPS — Getting Prepared for Ship portal — provides helpful information about registering for courses. By reviewing this material in advance, you will come to Orientation prepared to register for courses that are appropriate for your educational and personal goals.

Our colleges have days dedicated to onboarding their new students, so be sure to check this page often to find out when your orientation will be held. If you have any questions, contact Erin Kissinger in our Orientation Office at 717-477-1164 or efkiss@ship.edu.

Director's Welcome

Hello students! For our current students: we hope your fall semester is going well. For our incoming students: welcome! We look forward to meeting and working with you. Our spring orientation leaders have been chosen and they are all very excited to work with you over the next few months. Our spring schedule should be posted in the very near future.  Feel free to call our office or email us if you have any questions regarding spring orientation.
