Access your Ship email

Official university communication will be directed to your Ship e-mail.  To activate your email account, go to the Admissions portal.

Step 5
Sign up for emergency notifications

Sign up for emergency text messages and add your emergency contact info.

Step 2
Sign your housing or commuter agreement

Sign your housing agreement and pay your housing deposit to live on campus or complete an exemption agreement to commute.

Step 6
Complete health and meningitis info

Complete your health record and meningitis form.

Step 3
Take placement testing

Register for placement testing as needed.

Step 7
Complete Ship's prevention modules

Access and complete substance abuse and sexual violence prevention modules.

Step 4
Register for orientation

Register for and attend orientation. You will meet your fellow Shipmates, schedule for classes, and receive your Ship ID card.

Step 8
Pay or clear your bill

Watch your Ship e-mail for your billing statement. Pay or clear your bill by the due date indicated in the e-mail message.

Does this apply to you?

Students with documented disabilities may register with the Office of Accessibility Resources for accommodations and/or support.

Students with on-going medical or emotional issues are encouraged to contact the Health Center or Counseling Center for support and questions.

If pursuing a BA, a language requirement must be met.

Purchase a meal plan if you are an on-campus student. Students with special dietary needs are encouraged to contact Dining Services to speak with the dietitian.

International students must check in with the International Office.

Student athletes must complete compliance sports medicine paperwork. Visit shipraiders.com or contact your coaching staff.

Eligible veteran students are encouraged to register for veteran's benefits.

Good things to do

On-campus students must have a campus mailbox.

You may register your vehicle for a parking decal before coming to campus on move-in day (AFTER AUGUST 1). Don't forget your Ship ID card, driver's license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance to pick up your decal.

Students should access the myShip portal to become familiar with academic information including policies, dates, deadlines, scheduling, employment, financial aid, bills and personal information.

Look up required books for classes on the bookstore web site.

Students should be familiar with campus policies in the Swataney (Student Handbook).
