Where are you from?:  I’m from Rwanda a country situated in the African Great Lakes region.

What year are you graduating?: Fall 2018

What is your program/major?: Organizational Development and Leadership (Business Concentration) 

What are your future career goals?: My short term to acquire practical leadership experience in a humanitarian organization to help me become an effective leader and impact others’ lives “I’ve dreamt about helping to change others’ lives” and “Meet different people and help them solve their problems”

Internship Experience: Hoping to have an internship for Summer 2018

How has Shippensburg University prepared you for your future?: Ship gave me a deeper background about leadership and how it impacts us every day in our lives. 

Did you have previous experience, knowledge, or background in the content area of your chosen program?: I chose this program because it is going to add value on my undergraduate degree of Business Administration.

What surprised you in taking some of the courses?: The support and words of encouragement from my professors–  “You can do it”, “Keep up the good work” and "You will succeed".  

Did you have any difficulty getting through your coursework once you were enrolled in your program?: Yes, writing was challenging, but I’ve taken advantage of the Learning Center and it has been a helpful support!

How do you plan to use your certificate, degree, or new knowledge and experience?: My professional goals is to effectively utilize my newly developed knowledge and abilities to think analytically and ethically about the world of business and management of people. 

Any tips/advice for future students?: To all my fellow students out there, I suggest them to “take some time off from books and connect with people” and “don’t pretend to be somebody else, be yourself”. 

Any favorite courses, experiences, or faculty moments you’d like to share?: Every course was important for me. Honestly, since I started this program, I fell in love with all courses. Every professor was special for me.
