The Physics Minor is designed to give students a solid background in Physics. By choosing the appropriate Physics electives, students could complement the knowledge gained in their major. For example, a Chemistry major would benefit from taking courses in Quantum Mechanics and Heat and Thermodynamics, while a Mathematics major could take Mathematical Physics, and a Computer Science major could take Electronics to learn something about the inner workings of the computer.
A Physics minor on your resume will certainly attract the attention of prospective employers. It will show them that you have excellent problem solving skills, a good background in applied mathematics, and a good understanding of the basic rules governing the universe.
If you plan on graduate school in Chemistry or Mathematics, you will certainly have an advantage over other students without your background in Physics. A Computer Science major with a minor in Physics would be particularly attractive to an employer in an engineering firm.
