We look forward to seeing you at Shippensburg University on Thursday, April 25 for our annual Cadet For A Day Program. Plan for a day of fun and a chance to meet new people in a casual but informative program.
In the morning you will shadow an upperclass ROTC cadet through a typical college day at Shippensburg University, in the afternoon get hands on experience with military equipment and vehicles and watch our cadets perform a simulated tactical demonstration using helicopters and armored vehicles. We hope by the end of the day to have all your questions answered about Shippensburg University and Army ROTC.
Free parking is available in Parking Lot C-6 behind the Luhr’s Performing Arts Center. It's just a short walk from Lot C-6 to the Ceddia Union Building ("the CUB"), where the activities will begin. If you are not driving, you can be dropped off at the Ceddia Union Building (building 28 on the campus map) at 8 a.m. and picked up at Lot C-6 at 4 p.m. Driving directions to Shippensburg University can be found here.
Please wear comfortable clothing since you will doing a lot of walking throughout the day. Jeans, sneakers, t-shirts, and sweatshirts are entirely appropriate and are recommended. (Current JROTC cadets may wear their service uniform if desired.) Lunch will be provided for students at no charge in the Reisner Dining Facility, and an Admissions Representative will be available at 3:30 to talk to students.
Can't make it for the full day?
If you're interested in ROTC but can't make it for the full day, you can still meet our instructors, spend some time with our cadets and watch the tactical demonstration from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. To take part, meet us in Parking Lot C-6 (behind Luhr's Performing Arts Center) and walk around the baseball diamond to the football practice field.
