Master of Arts in Teaching / Science Education            Math and Science             

Earn a Master's Degree in Science Education plus PA Teacher Certification in 18 months

Shippensburg University can help you take your bachelor's degree in science (or a STEM discipline) to a career teaching middle or high school science. The 30-credit Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Science Education Program:
  • Can be completed in 18 months.
  • Offers the convenience of Saturday and online courses at the Dixon University Center, Harrisburg.
  • Delivers seven, eight-week courses through a combination of face-to-face, online, and videoconferencing instruction.
  • Provides opportunities for classroom observation and co-teaching with experienced mentor teachers.
  • Includes a capstone 12-week student teaching practicum.
  • Results in both a master's degree and teacher certification through the Pennsylvania Department of Education (pending approval).
