I would like to personally welcome you to the Ship family and encourage you to extend your ideas and thoughts on how to make these upcoming collegiate years the best they can be.

 

The Student Senate continuously strives to positively impact every aspect of campus life and serve as the voice of all students. 

 

As a member of the Student Association, it is my hope that you will voice your concerns, recommendations, or suggestions.  My office is located on the third floor of the Ceddia Union Building, room 323, and the door is always open.

You are invited to meet the candidates for the Dean of Education and Human Services position. 

 

Sessions for students be held from 4:30 to 5:00 (except Dr. Johnson’s session will be held from 2:30-3:00 on Wednesday, March 5) in the Old Main Mark Room on the days as indicated below.  Also, open sessions for all constituencies will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 in the Mark Room.  During this session, each candidate has been asked to give a 10-minute presentation that showcases his/her qualifications for the position.

  • Tuesday, March 4 - Dr. Steven Melnick
    • Professor of Education and Director, Advanced Teacher Education Program at The Pennsylvania State University at Harrisburg

IMPORTANT!

Unfortunately the team incentive of raising $250.00 to earn a fleece for every registered member by March 5th is no longer available.However, Team Captains and Individuals who raise $250.00 will receive an American Cancer Society fleece for their efforts.  We apologize for this inconvenience and wish this doesn't discourage your fundraising efforts.  We have extended the date for registration to Wednesday, March 19th.  Questions can be emailed to Ray Ryan at rr6761@ship.edu.  


The Student Senate is currently undertaking an initiative to update the Student Association Strategic Plan with the ultimate goal of completion by April 17, 2008. 

The survey is intended to provide the Student Senate with information regarding understanding of our organization’s position on campus, as well as the issues that are most important to the students of Shippensburg University.

The Senior Class of 2008 is looking for volunteers to help with our Senior Challenge, our last effort to raise money for a lasting class gift to give to Shippensburg University upon graduation.  If you are a graduating senior and are interested, please contact President Heather Dino at hd1805@ship.edu.  This will not take too much of your time and will be greatly appreciated!!! Please be on the lookout for mailings and promotions in the near future!
