Undergraduate non-degree student

You have indicated that you are an undergraduate non-degree student - taking undergraduate or graduate courses at Shippensburg University, but not pursuing a bachelor's degree. This can include students taking courses to transfer to another institution.

Non-degree students must complete an application for admission, unless they have attended Shippensburg during the spring semester.

Quick Instructions for Scheduling  Summer Classes

  • If you are not a Shippensburg University student, you must complete an application for admission.
  • Review course offerings. Note any restrictions or prerequisites.
  • Complete a CER for each term you wish to enroll in. CER form includes:
      • Course Election Record -- list the courses you wish to schedule
      • Billing portion -- calculate the tuition and fees, and include payment
    Registration Information [PDF]
  • Return the scheduling materials (application, CER, bill, and payment) to the Registrar's Office.

Selecting Classes

Review the courses being offered during the summer terms.

Please note any prerequisites or restrictions before selecting a course. If you have any questions about course contents, contact the academic department offering the course. View directory (PDF)

Fill out the appropriate Course Election Record (CER) with all requested information for each summer term for which you wish to schedule. Select your courses and indicate the eight-digit course code (department, course, and section numbers) plus the course title and meeting times. You may indicate alternates in case the courses you request are full.

Although every effort has been made to construct an offering of courses that meets student needs, many summer courses are offered on a contingency basis and may be canceled if there is insufficient enrollment.

Students may not schedule more than two courses each term during Term 4 and Term 5.

Completing the Billing Statement Portion of the CER Form

Compute your tuition charges and fees based on the number of credits you plan to schedule. Please note the fees presented under the Tuition link supersede the fees noted in the printed summer catalog.

Housing and/or meal plan charges should also be added if desired. Students residing in on-campus housing are required to choose a meal plan. Complete the "Tuition and Fees" section of the CER and indicate method of payment (check or credit card). Make check or money order payable to "Shippensburg University" in the computed amount.

Returning the Materials

Students should return the CER and payment to:

Registrar's Office
Shippensburg University
1871 Old Main Drive
Shippensburg, PA 17257-2299
