Source Aid

SourceAid’s Citation Builder formats your bibliography in MLA, APA, CMS & CSE styles. You can also save your work for later editing or addition.

Citation Machine

Citation Machine generates works cited entries in MLA and APA formats which are able to be copied and pasted into a word document.

RefWorks

We subscribe to this service! RefWorks is a web-based bibliographic software package that enables you to:

  • Organize your research
  • Include citations while you write your paper

1. Scholarly Articles in Education -

If you don't find full text of the article, choose "Check Availability" to order it via ILLIAD [inter library loan]

  • Education Research Complete 
    • Covers all aspects of the field of Education
    • Contains abstracts and full text of journal articles and other research materials
    • Access from on campus or off campus with Ship ID
  • ERIC (EBSCO) 
    • Covers the field of Education, most recent materials include the full text
    • Contains more than 1 million items including journal articles, unpublished documents, research reports, curricular materials, etc.
    • Access from on campus or off campus with Ship ID

 2. Scholarly Articles in Psychology

  •  Psychological and Behavioral Sciences Collection 
    • Covers >500 peer reviewed journals in psychology and behavioral science which are not in PsycARTICLES
    • Contains >80% are full-text; almost all are peer-reviewed, many with coverage back to 1970
    • Access from on campus or off campus with Ship ID
  • PsycINFO 
    • Indexes abstracts of journal articles, books, and reports in psychology and related fields
    • Contains abstracts and links to full text when available
    • Access from on campus or off campus with Ship ID
  • PsycARTICLES 
    • Most titles have full text from 1985 or the first journal issue; coverage of the remaining titles extends from the mid-1990s
    • Contains full-text for 53 peer-reviewed psychology journals published by the American Psychological Association and related groups
    • Access from on campus or off campus with Ship ID

3. Other Article Resources

  •  Academic Search Complete  - Our main, full text database of journal and magazine articles in the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, business and eduation. 50% of the articles are available immediately in electronic form.
  •  Other subject databases - You may need to check our other subject databases.
  •  JSTOR  - provides access to an online archive for 700+ full text scholarly journals throughout the arts and sciences. It includes online backfiles which extend from the first issue to within 3-5 years of the current issue

 

  •  MAS Ultra  - articles, books and primary sources for High School students.  Can search by Lexile score (reading level).
  •  Middle Search Plus  - articles, books and primary sources for Middle School students. Can search by Lexile score (reading level).

4. Books - Search first in WorldCat. When you know that a book exists, then see if Ship has it or if it is available in EZ-Borrow

  •  WorldCat.org  - This is the mother of all library databases. If a book has been published it's in here. WorldCat now indicates if Ship has the book you found. 
  •  Ship catalog  - Books in Ship Library
  •  EZ-Borrow [PALCI]  - a cooperative catalog for borrowing books from 50+ academic libraries in Pennsylvania and the region, including Penn State and the University of Pennsylvania libraries.
