Profile

My primary teaching and research interests are in climatology and hydrology. Most of my research involves students and I make a point to incorporate my research results into my classes. I also teach the graduate-level Fundamentals of Research course. I am always interested in discussing new projects with motivated students. Recent student projects have included:

measuring evaporation rates from a local water supply reservoir
assessing local urban heat islands
assessing the impact of green roofs
forecasting bird migration based on meteorological conditions
inventorying campus greenhouse gas emissions
assessing student abilities to learn meteorology in three-dimensions
assessing climate trends in the Susquehanna River Basin and along the Appalachian Trail
determining weather conditions that promote poor air quality in the local area
