Profile
My primary teaching and research interests are in climatology and hydrology. Most of my research involves students and I make a point to incorporate my research results into my classes. I also teach the graduate-level Fundamentals of Research course. I am always interested in discussing new projects with motivated students. Recent student projects have included:
- measuring evaporation rates from a local water supply reservoir
- assessing local urban heat islands
- assessing the impact of green roofs
- forecasting bird migration based on meteorological conditions
- inventorying campus greenhouse gas emissions
- assessing student abilities to learn meteorology in three-dimensions
- assessing climate trends in the Susquehanna River Basin and along the Appalachian Trail
- determining weather conditions that promote poor air quality in the local area
