Samba, Brazil's Joyous National Music

Wednesday November 5th 2014. Time: 1:00pm-2:30pm at the CUB MPR

"There is No Point to Samba if it Doesn't Make You Smile": Learn to Play Samba, Brazil's Joyous National Music. Samba, represents a mixture of Brazil's African and European heritage. Alex Shaw, leader of Philadelphia's Alô Brasil band, will direct a samba percussion session. Students wishing to participate should contact Dr. Gretchen Pierce <GKPierce@ship.edu>. The first 5 who respond will be eligible to learn. Others will be welcome to observe.
