Course Reserves

Students

For downloading or access information about any items your professor(s) have placed on reserve, go to http://blackboard.ship.edu

  • Login to Blackboard
  • Select the course under My Courses
  • Select Tools
  • Select Course Reserves

Any eReserves files can be downloaded from the Course Reserves page. You will need the call number for any books or other print reserve materials on the reserves shelf; request physical reserves items at the Reserves Desk.

Faculty

You have the option to follow these directions to upload your eReserves items via Blackboard on your own or have the library upload them for you. Please see the Reserves Policy & Procedures page.


Loan Terms for Print Reserve Materials 

Note: All reserve transactions require presentation of a valid Shippensburg University I.D.

Loan Periods

There are four loan-period categories:

1. Three-hour loans

  • Only one item is loaned to an individual at a time.
  • The loan period is for three hours, three-hour items charged out less than 1 hour before building closing time will be due the next morning (becoming an overnight loan).

2. One-day loans
3. Three-days loan
4. Seven-days loan (graduate courses only)
Reserve materials must be returned before the Circulation Desk closes on the due date, except three-hour loans. (See note above)

  • Only one item is loaned to an individual at a time.
  • No renewals are permitted.
  • No holds are permitted.

Overdue Fines on Reserve Materials

  • Three-hour reserve (overnight loans): $1.00 per hour to a maximum of $25.00.
  • One, three, and seven-day reserve: $5.00 per day to a maximum of $25.00.

All fines are due and payable when the overdue item is returned. Payment by check, money order, or cash will be accepted. Students are blocked from further library transactions when a reserve item is overdue or reserve fines are charged against their record.
