||"Making the transition and adjustment to college is a big change. Having an Honors mentor allows you to ask questions, not only about the Honors Program, but about classes, professors, and college life in general. The mentor program is beneficial and provides a weathered college veteran to give you advice. I believe that the mentor program is so important that I decided to be a mentor myself!"

Summer Orientation Program: August 1-2, 2014
To help incoming Honors students learn about the opportunities the Honors Program offers to enhance their undergraduate education, freshmen Honors students participate in a mandatory two-day summer orientation program. This orientation is in addition to the regular university orientation held in June.
On-campus housing and meals will be provided. Please note that this event is for students only.
Additional information about the orientation will be sent to students' university e-mail addresses. If you have any questions about orientation, please e-mail Ms. Cindy Poe, Honors Program secretary, at email@example.com or call (717) 477-1604.
Students who are admitted to the Honors Program are assigned upper-class Honors students as their mentors. Mentors provide valuable academic assistance and social support. They contact their mentee during the summer and meet with them after they arrive on campus to help orient them to the university and the Honors Program. Mentors also host a hike, scavenger hunt, picnic, and other events for incoming Honors students throughout the beginning of the academic year.
