Application

The Honors Program welcomes applications from high school seniors, first-semester freshmen, second-semester sophomores, and transfer students. Approximately 50 students are admitted to the program each year. You may download an application form below or request that a form be mailed to you by contacting the Honors Program office at (717) 477-1604 or honors@ship.edu.

High School Seniors

The academic standards for admission to the Honors Program are SAT scores of at least 1800 and rank in the upper 20% of your high school class. While SAT scores and class rank are important, other factors, including grade point average and evidence of leadership and community service, are also considered in admissions decisions.

Students may submit an application to the Honors Program after having been offered admission to Shippensburg University. For the fullest consideration of your Honors application, please submit it by March 1. Applicants will be notified of their status by March 31. Applications received after March 1 will be considered on a space-available basis.
