Campus Community Members Accept New Positions
Three members of the campus community have accepted new positions during the coming academic year. Jeff Michaels will serve acting director of intercollegiate athletics, swimming coach Tim Verge will serve as acting assistant athletic director, and Tim Ebersole will serve as a part-time, loaned executive to the Shippensburg Area Chamber of Commerce.
Michaels fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Dr. Roberta L. Page who accepted a new position with the NCAA. He joined the university as associate director of athletics in 2005 and has been responsible for organizing and implementing all aspects of NCAA rules compliance and education for the athletics department. Verge recently completed his 11th season as head swimming coach. During his tenure, his teams have developed a reputation for academic and athletic excellence. The university will begin a national search to fill the athletics director post later this year.

Ebersole, who will continue his regular responsibilities with the university, will serve in his additional role beginning this month while the chamber’s board of directors organizes and executes a search for a new executive director. He has been at the university since 1996, is a former president of the chamber board of directors and has been deeply involved in community organizations for many years.
