The CUMBERLAND Yearbook, Shippensburg University's award winning yearbook, was founded in 1917. With a goal of excellence and quality abounding from each staff, the yearbook has been able to produce 90 editions.
Every year since 1918, Shippensburg University students have been paging through their yearbooks celebrating their academic excellence and successes. In 2007-08, the student yearbook staff of the CUMBERLAND celebrated their own accomplishment by winning the 2007 Yearbook Award of Excellence.
The Award of Excellence is given each year to five percent of yearbook staffs nationwide that demonstrate excellence in yearbook cover design, theme development, layout design, writing and photography. These winners appear in Taylor Publishing’s 2008 Yearbook Yearbook, displaying the best student-oriented yearbooks from around the United States.
Since its humble beginnings in Old Main, the CUMBERLAND has bounced around campus, until it found a more permanent home in the Ceddia Union Building in 1992. The large office houses several computers, a flat-bed scanner, all of the photography equipment, as well as space for small meetings and an extensive library of the yearbooks of the past.
