Alumni Admissions Representatives Program (AARs)
Alumni Admissions Program helps maintain our tradition of academic excellence
by encouraging academically talented students to apply and attend Shippensburg
University. As a member of the AARs
Program, you will provide the "personal attention" and
"encouragement" that can make the difference between a student
choosing Ship or another institution. Providing your perspective as an alumnus
is the most important component to the success of this program, and is an
invaluable element that helps the University reach and possibly exceed its
overall undergraduate enrollment goals.
Who are the AARs?
Members of the AAR Program are Ship alumni who have expressed an
interest in assisting the Office of Admissions in the recruitment of
prospective students. AARs serve their local region and participate in a
variety of Opt-in Volunteer recruitment activities
AAR Program Goals
The goals of the program are:
AAR's are asked each year to
participate in a variety of recruitment activities. As volunteer
opportunities vary, so does the time commitment required for each opportunity.
For the program’s success, it is important that all members are trained and
made aware of yearly updates.
How can you help?
AARs participate in local and regional recruitment activities such
as college fairs and contacting
admitted students. AARs are ambassadors for the University who act as
local contacts for students, families, and admission counselors.
Responsibilities may vary depending on which type of Opt-in Volunteer Opportunity you
participate in. If you are considering becoming an Alumni Admissions
Representative, please contact Assistant Dean of Admissions, Joseph Luna.
