2017 – RESIDENCE HALL BULLETIN
The residence halls
close at 6 pm on Tuesday, November 21 for Thanksgiving Break. Special
permission is required to stay past that time or over the break.
Friday, Nov. 17 –
Requests due to Residence Director for extended stay past Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 6
pm & Housing needs over the semester break due to academic or special
circumstances must be made in writing to email@example.com
Tuesday, Nov. 21 –
Residence halls will close for the Thanksgiving Break at 6 pm
Sunday, Nov. 26 –
Residence halls re-open at 1 pm
needs are being coordinated through the coaches and Athletic Department
PRIOR TO LEAVING
FOR BREAK, ALL RESIDENTS MUST:
-Close and lock all
room windows and doors
-Leave all window
blinds down with slats open
electrical items with the exception of refrigerators and fish tanks
-Empty all trash
-Routine safety and
security inspections of each room will occur after all residents have departed.
housing sign-up process began Monday, October 30
!!! Any returning
student that signs up in the first 12 days will not have to pay the housing
deposit !!! That's correct, NO DEPOSIT REQUIRED if you sign your housing
agreement between October 30 and November 10. Housing agreements are due by
Thursday, February 1, 2018, and it is a $200 deposit after November 10.
You do not have to
wait until February to select your assignment! You can select your suite residence
hall and room assignment shortly after signing the agreement in the Myhousing
area of the MyShip Portal.
All residence hall
students are reminded housing agreements are for the entire academic year, fall
and spring semesters. Please refer to the housing website at housing.ship.edu
and refer to the Housing Agreement page for details.
Any student who is
transferring, graduating or not returning must notify their Residence Director.
Students who wish to discuss any housing concerns must see their Resident
Assistant or Residence Director. Students withdrawing must also appropriately
withdraw from residence halls for billing purposes. If the process is not
followed through appropriately, students will be responsible for housing fees
applied to their accounts.
As a reminder,
Resident Assistant applications are due Friday, December 15th, 2017 by 4:30 pm.
