Shippensburg University to host diversity summit Nov. 21-22

Shippensburg University will host the 2013 Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Diversity Summit Thursday and Friday (Nov. 21 and 22).

The summit’s theme is “Inclusive Excellence and International Education: Expanding Our Community Together.” This year’s summit also includes a disabilities component.

Among the speakers at the summit are PASSHE Chancellor Frank T. Brogan; Dr. Damon A. Williams, senior vice president for programs, training, and youth development services for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America; and Dr. Stephan J. Smith, executive director of the Association on Higher Education Disability.

The program will include peer-reviewed presentations by PASSHE faculty, social equity officers, multicultural affairs staff, international education directors, disability service providers, human resources managers and others on research, program design and success, and professional perspectives. It will also include PASSHE-wide affinity groups in the areas of diversity/inclusion and international programs/perspectives.

Additional information and programs details are available at the summit’s website at www.ship.edu/PASSHE-Summit.
