First Year Students

General Sessions I. Please select one of the four sessions.

  • Dining Services. Orndorff Theatre, CUB 123.
  • Financial Aid General Session. Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) B & C, CUB 100 B & C
    Representatives from Financial Aid and Student Accounts will give a brief presentation and general overview, as well as answer your questions. Both offices will be available all day for individual appointments and more specific concerns at the Money Matters location.
  • Housing and Residence Life. MPR A, CUB 100 A.
    A representative from Housing and Residence Life will give a brief presentation and answer your questions and concerns.
  • Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA), “It’s a Human Thing!” CUB 232.
  • Technology Services.CUB 226.

8:45 am - 9:40 am
Opening Session. Luhrs Performing Arts Center (PAC), Theatre

  • Greetings from University representatives. Media presentation on academic and campus life issues. Review of orientation materials and program schedule following presentation.

9:55 am - Noon

Students Meet with Academic Dean and Faculty. PAC, Theatre.
Academic Advisement and Class Registration. Students will receive direction from the Dean's meeting on locations for advisement and instruction on scheduling courses.

RED Track Noon - 1:00pm
BLUE Track 1:00pm - 2:00pm

Lunch. Parents and Students. Reisner Dining Hall, Main Dining Room
Student tickets for lunch will be provided at registration. Guest lunch tickets may be purchased for $5.00. Residence hall tours will be leaving from the dining hall at 1:30pm.

BLUE Track Noon - 1:00pm
RED Track 1:00pm - 2:00pm

Meet Your Shipmates: Get Acquainted with Your New College Friends. ShipRec

  • All students are expected to participate.

  • An opportunity to discuss social adjustment and academic success with your classmates and current Shippensburg students.

PAC, Theatre. The end is as important as the beginning. Join us for this brief session that will include:

    minutes beginning at 4:15pm.

Please join PSECU, the on-campus financial institution, and other banks for information and questions.

7:30 am - 3:00 pm
Disability Services. Anchor Meeting Room 2, CUB 104
The Disability Services Office will be available to answer your questions and concerns.

9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Money Matters. Stained-glass lounge located outside of CUB 239.
The Financial Aid Office and Student Accounts Office will be available to answer your questions about individual forms, loan processing, deadlines, and financial/billing issues.

8:30am - 2:30pm
Registration Area for Troubleshooting (RAFT Room). CUB 119.
The RAFT Room will be open to students for unanswered questions and issues concerning class registration, placement testing, and change of major. Offices represented include Admissions, Placement Testing, and Registrar.

New Ship students and their families will have the opportunity to connect with current students to learn more about careers and jobs, involvement and leadership, experiential learning opportunities, as well as activities on campus and in the local community.
