Overview
This guide will show you how to modify your Quizzes to show additional feedback to students after they have taken a quiz. By default when a student submits a quiz or reviews their attempt on a quiz they only see the number of points earned vs the number of points possible. Occasionally you may want to provide them with additional information such as what questions they got wrong or right.

Modifying the Quiz Submission Views
1. From your Course Homepage, click Course Admin.
2. Click Quizzes.
3. Click on the title of the quiz you want to modify the submission view for.
4. Click on the Submission Views tab.
5. Click Add Additional View.
6. Enter A Name in the field provided. We would recommend naming the view in such a way as to quickly see what information will be displayed. For Example, if you are setting up this view to review an exam with answers then you might want to name it "Exam Review with Answers". NOTE: This is the only required field to create a submission view.
7. Configure the following settings how you'd like. You'll find descriptions of the settings below.
- Message: Here you can provide a message to your students. This will appear to them when they view the submission view. For example, if you decide to restrict this view to a specific time period or for whatever reason limit the availability of this view you might want to notify the students here.
- View Restrictions (DATE): This date indicates when this submission view will be available for students to see. For example, if this date is set later than the quiz end date then students will only see the default submission view (described in the overview above) until the date is shown here at which point the additional view you created will become available for them to see.
- View Restrictions (IP ADDRESS): This option allows you to apply the same IP restrictions used for quiz participation to the new submission view. This would only be relevant if you've used IP restrictions in the quiz set up to limit the location of where students can take the quiz. For example, if you've set up the quiz to only be taken in a specific computer lab using the IP restrictions and selected this option here then the students would only be able to view this submission view in the same lab where they took the quiz.
- View Restrictions (LIMITED DURATION): Here you can restrict how long (in minutes) this view is available after a quiz is submitted. For example, if you set this to 60 minutes then your students will see this view upon completion of the quiz and will be able to return to it up to 1 hour after completion.
- View Details (SHOW QUESTION - YES): This option enables you to show the questions of the quiz on the submission view. Once YES is selected, you can choose one of the first four options. It's worth noting that simply showing the questions will not show the student the correct answer (see Show Question Answers below)
- "Show questions answered incorrectly" will only show the students the questions they got wrong.
- "Show questions answered correctly" will only show the student the questions they got right.
- "Show all questions without user responses" will only show the student the questions they left blank.
- "Show all questions with users responses" will show all questions that the student provided an answer for.
- View Details (SHOW QUESTION ANSWERS): Checking this option will provide the students with the correct answer in the submission view for any question that you show. For example, if you've chosen the "Show question answered incorrectly" option above and elected to turn "Show Question Answers" on then the student will see the questions they got wrong and the correct answer to that question. They will see a red X by the answer they gave and a Green arrow next to the correct answer. If this option is unchecked, all they would see is the Red X.
- View Details (SHOW QUESTION SCORE): This option will show the students how many points they earned for a question. For example, if you've checked the option and elected to show all questions with user responses the student would see a question they got right along with a 1/1 to indicate that they earned 1 point out of a possible 1 point. A question they got wrong would display as a 0/1.
- View Details (SHOW QUESTION - NO): Checking this option will gray out all options above and will result in the students being unable to review any questions after the quiz is completed. This option is chosen in the Default view.
- View Details (SCORE): This option is checked by default and when selected it will show the students' overall score including the number of points they earned vs the number of points possible. This is the only thing enabled in the default submission view.
- View Details (STATISTICS): These options allow you to provide students with additional statistical information. You can show the students the class average or the score distribution if you wish.
