Mission

Our mission is to support diverse writers across disciplines as they engage in the process of writing, to create a culture of learning that promotes critical thinking and reflection, and to foster the self-confidence of individual writers.

About Us

The Writing Studio is apart of the Learning Center on the first floor of Mowrey Hall, The Student Success Center.

We offer one-on-one writing support with trained peer tutors at any stage of the writing process: planning, drating, revising, and proofreading. We do our best to assist you with any writing assignment in any discipline.

Writing tutoring is conversational and collaborative. You and your writing tutor will likely discuss your assignment prompt and requirements, read your writing aloud together, and identify strategies to help you write or to make your writing more effective. You do not need a draft of your writing to schedule an appointment, but please bring any course materials that will help your tutor help you.

Schedule an Appointment

All appointments are currently taking place via Zoom.

Watch the video below or access print instructions here.

In an effort to serve all students, we ask that you please do not schedule back-to-back appointments for the same service. We encourage distributed learning, which requires study sessions of relatively short duration (1-hour or less) over a period of time.
