Summer 2021 appointments will occur through Zoom
Schedule an Appointment
Currently, all appointments are taking place via Zoom.
Watch the video below or access print instructions here.
In an effort to serve all students, we ask that you please do not schedule back-to-back appointments for the same service. We encourage distributed learning, which requires study sessions of relatively short duration (1-hour or less) over a period of time.
Attend an Appointment
You will use Zoom to attend Summer 2021 writing tutoring appointments. To use Zoom, you will need internet access and a computer equipped with a camera and microphone. For instructions on how to use Zoom, please click here.
If you do not have the proper equipment for Zoom, please visit the technology resources page. Please be sure to have the appropriate technology by the time of your appointment.
What to Bring
You should have the following materials ready at the time of your appointment:
- An electronic copy of your assignment prompt
- An electronic copy of your draft (if you have a draft)
- Any books, syllabi, scholarly articles, or class notes that could be helpful
If you are stuck on the brainstorming or drafting portion of your writing assignment, that's okay! You don't need a completed paper to schedule an appointment.
What to Expect
Writing tutoring is conversational and collaborative. You and your writing tutor will likely discuss your assignment prompt and requirements, read your writing aloud together, and identify strategies or information to help you write or to make your writing more effective.
