Grove College earns additional national honor

The John L. Grove College of Business at Shippensburg University has earned another national honor this semester.

The Princeton Review has named Grove College as one of the best business schools in the nation in its 2016 edition of its annual “The Best 295 Business Schools.” The publication does not rank schools numerically or name a best business school.

In September, the college’s graduate program was recognized nationally, with its online MBA program tied for 97th and its part-time MBA program tied for 130th in rankings by U.S. News and World Report.

Dr. John Kooti, dean of Grove College, said, “Being listed among top 295 business programs in the world by The Princeton Review is a testament to our commitment to provide a high quality and high value business programs. This ranking cannot be accomplished without the dedication of faculty and staff to provide the best academic and professional experiences to our students.”

According to Robert Franek, The Princeton Review senior vice president-publisher, “We recommend Shippensburg as one of the best to earn an MBA. We chose the 295 schools in this book based on our high regard for their academics and our assessment of institutional data we collect from the schools.”

According to information from The Princeton Review, the publication factored in data from surveys of 22,000 students attending the 295 schools in the book and institutional data it collected during the 2014-15 academic year.

The report said “The school’s reputation proceeds it within the central Pennsylvania area, and a Shippensburg MBA usually serves the intended purpose of the student, which is to receive an accredited MBA; whether they are trying to switch careers or advance within a current one, most students will take care of their professional development goals on their own.”

The survey asked business school students about their school's academics, student body and campus life as well as about themselves and their career plans. One Shippensburg student in the survey said that overall, students come to Shippensburg because it “offers a great curriculum for the cost.”
