Shippensburg University began strict social distancing and work from home protocols on March 16, 2020. Therefore, due to decreased likelihood of exposure from contact on campus, individual reports will no longer be announced on this page. As of April 1, 2020, the University is only updating the aggregate number of self-reported cases among students.

A Shippensburg University student has self-reported as testing positive for COVID-19. The student reports no contact with the campus community since exposure.
Everyone is urged to practice social distancing in combatting the global pandemic and respect the privacy of persons who have tested positive.

Two Shippensburg University students who traveled to Europe during spring break have returned to the United States. Upon landing in the U.S., they were stopped at the airport, tested positive for COVID-19, and were hospitalized. They remain out of state in quarantine under medical supervision.
The students contracted the virus during their travels. They have not returned to Pennsylvania and the community is not at risk of exposure from these occurences at this time.
The situation reminds us how important it is for everyone to abide by social distancing and community spread mitigation practices. It is vital for the health of our country.
