Report an Incident

File a Student Conduct Report

General conduct reports and violations (non-academic) are behaviors that include, but are not limited to, alcohol, disorderly conduct, drugs, harassment, physical violence, or other violations of university policies, regulations, or rules. To file a student conduct report (non-academic), please use our online reporting form.


Report an Academic Integrity Violation

Academic violations are behaviors that include, but are not limited to, cheating, plagiarism or falsifying official records related to the University. General classroom misbehavior is considered a non-academic violation.

University faculty members should take the following actions. 

For first-time violations:

  1. Contact the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards to confirm this is the student's first alleged violation: 717-477-1164 or studentconduct@ship.edu.
  2. If it is the student's first alleged violation, please complete the Settlement of a Charge of Academic Dishonesty Form and meet with the student.
  3. Then upload the complete form to our conduct system or send it via interoffice mail to Old Main 210 c/o Kyle Miller. 

For second-time violations:

  1. If you have confirmed with the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards that this is a second-time alleged violation for the student, prepare all relevant information and documents. 
  2. Then report the incident and upload relevant documents/materials using our online reporting formhere.
  3. The Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards will then begin the scheduling process for a University Conduct Board (UCB) Hearing.   

Report Sexual Misconduct

Shippensburg University strongly encourages prompt reporting of sexual misconduct.To report an incident of sexual misconduct, please use the online reporting form. If you wish to file anonymously, you may do so by leaving the name and contact information fields blank. 

If you would like to file a formal complaint, which is required to start a formal investigation, please complete the online reporting form.

Sexual misconduct reports are directed to the Title IX Coordinator/Compliance Officer


Report Hazing 

Shippensburg University strongly encourages prompt reporting of hazing. To report an incident of hazing, please use the online reporting form


Make a ShipCARES Referral

Faculty, staff, students, and guests are encouraged to use the online referral form to report behavior that they perceive as concerning, worrisome, or threatening. For information on what is meant by concerning behavior, please visit the ShipCARES page and review information on when to refer a student.
