Housing Instructions for Incoming Shippensburg University Housing Students
(Returning or Graduate Student Housing Instructions)

Step 1 
Confirm Housing
             Incoming Students confirm housing through the Admission confirmation process

You will go into the MyHousing portal to complete your housing.  Go to: MyShip, Student, Ship Life, Connect to MyHousing. 

Roommate and Room Selection
Please allow 1-2 business days to be added to the room selection process.

Step 2

Roommate Selection - After confirming housing you will receive an email at your Ship email account with further instruction on using our roommate software My College Roomie.  Please note you do not need a roommate to select into a room, but you are encouraged to match roommates first to ensure you are placed together. 

Step 3  Note:  Room selection process ends 6-1-19

Select a room.  Students can select rooms in one of two ways.  Please allow 1-2 business days to be added to the room selection process.  The first of the matching roommates to select the room will pull the other roommate into the room.
1)  Select a room in a Living Learning Community (LLC) by participating in the online room selection process for your LLC.  You should be able to see any LLC you are eligible to participate in online.  If not, email housing@ship.edu to be added to the process.  Students may pull non-llc participants into their room to live with the LLC participant. 

2)  Beginning on March 12th students may participate in the Non-LLC room selection process posted on the Home screen of the MyHousing portal.  Use the room selection button in the portal to filter and find available non-Living Learning Community rooms.  Students will only see rooms that will accommodate all matching roommates.

If you do not select a room....
The Housing Office will place you at the end of the process and before billing in July based on any preferences in the MyHousing portal.  Special requests that are not accommodated in the portal may be emailed to housing@ship.edu. 

Students who sign up later in June, July, or August may be placed in "no assignment" until their housing assignment can be determined.  This simply means they are not assigned to a hall or room yet and a housing charge for a B suite and a meal plan will be placed on the bill.  If/when a student is assigned to another room type the billing will be adjusted.

Incoming Students wishing to live with Returning Students - The returning student should contact the housing office by email at: housing@ship.edu when they select a room to hold the vacancy for the incoming student.  After the new student confirms by signing the housing agreement and paying the $200 he/she should email the housing@ship.edu requesting the returning student and the room being held.
