MSA Mission Statement

The primary goal of the Shippensburg University Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) is to assist in the retention and graduation of students at Shippensburg University. Another goal is to promote diversity and enhance human understanding within the university and surrounding communities. MSA is in the business of building bridges, not bridges of steel between rivers, but bridges of understanding between people.

The office strives to expose students to individuals and experiences that will help them grow, develop self-confidence, gain assertiveness skills and learn about themselves and their cultures. MSA provides students with a forum to ask the questions "why" especially about paramount issues such as sexism, racism, sexual orientation and religious preference.

MSA develops leaders and equips them to enter professional arenas.
