Luhrs Center director named

Vickie Hubbard recently was named director of the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center at Shippensburg University.

Hubbard joins the Luhrs Center with 25 years of experience in venue management. Most recently, she served as executive director of the Modell-Lyric Performing Arts Center in Baltimore. She also has served in executive management positions at the Entertainment and Sports Division of Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company and Pullo Center at Penn State York.

“I have greatly admired the Luhrs Center for many years and have always wanted to be a part of the beautiful facility,” Hubbard said.

Familiar with the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, Hubbard received her undergraduate degree from East Stroudsburg University and her graduate degree from Millersville University. She and her husband, Ed have three children, one of whom recently graduated from Ship.

The H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center is the premier performance venue of central Pennsylvania. Opened in 2006, the 1,500 seat state-of-the-art venue currently attracts pop, rock and country artists, comedians and Broadway and family performances.
