Welcome!

Shippensburg University offers 4 public computer labs available to all students, faculty and staff. In addition, there are nearly 40 departmental computer labs that support the many academic programs available on our campus. The Microcomputer Labs provide a quick, easy and convenient way for members of the campus community to access computer and Internet services.

The public labs that are maintained by the Computing Technologies Center include MCT 054Grove 106/108Shippen 240 and Lehman Library 112.  Throughout the year, MCT 054 is open for use 24-hours a day.  Other lab schedules vary, but maintain many hours of availability for the convenience of all our students. Lab schedules may be modified over the summer. Please check the individual lab schedules, as labs are also frequently reserved for classes and therefore may be temporarily closed for public use.

There are also many departmental labs on campus. These labs are scheduled and maintained by their respective departments. Please contact the department responsible for your computer lab for hours and other information.

Software

All campus computer labs are equipped with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and other standard software. Many labs may contain other specialized software such as image editing applications, web design software, publication applications, and mapping programs. Please check the individual lab pages for a list of specific software packages available in the labs.

A list of commonly found lab software packages include:

  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • ArcGIS
  • Mathematica
  • Minitab
  • MATLAB
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Adobe Creative Cloud

Services

Most labs are also equipped with printing capabilities. Shippensburg University offers all students a per-semester print allowance that supports the requirements of most university classes and programs. Environmentally-friendly printers are installed in most labs with options like duplex (double-sided) printing available. Please see our Lab Printing information page for more details.

Some areas, including the library, offer scanning and photocopying services to students as well.

MCT 054, is staffed during day and evening hours with lab attendants to assist users with any problems or questions they may have.  Please see your lab attendant if you have questions about general computer use, software, printing, scanning, or other issues.
