Letter from HSO President Grant Innerst
Dear Class of
I would like
to congratulate each and every one of you on graduating high school and
choosing Shippensburg University to further your education. Even more
importantly, I want to congratulate you on being accepted to the Shippensburg
University Honors Program and welcome you whole heartedly to it. Ship is a
unique and exciting place that offers its students many outstanding
opportunities both academically and socially. Not only do you get to experience
these great opportunities that all students that go to Shippensburg University
have at their disposal, you also have special opportunities that are given to
you by the Honors Program. All of the current Honors students and professors
are very excited about this upcoming year and what is happening in the program.
We hope that you are also very excited about this upcoming year and all of the
opportunities that await you. With all of the opportunities and expectations
that come with college it can be challenging. It is very natural to feel stress
in your first year of college. The Honors Program is here to help you. The
Honors Program is not only an academic organization it is also a strong knit
social community that helps out its fellow members in any way possible.
can be really valuable to your college career, but you must put in the effort
to reap the benefits that the HSO and Honors Program can offer. The program can
only be successful if its members are actively involved and invested in it.
Therefore, I strongly urge you to actively involve yourself in the many
committees that make up the Honors Student Organization. It will not only
benefit you, but it will also make the program stronger.
Coming to Shippensburg
University and joining the Honors Program was one of the best decisions that I
have ever made. Now that you have made
the same choice I hope that I, along with all the others in the Honors Program,
can make it be the same for you. I look forward to meeting with all of you
during your summer orientation, but do not hesitate to contact myself or anyone
else before that if you have questions. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org,
and you can find other officers emails at www.ship.edu/honors/current/Honors_Student_Organization/ .
Again, I look forward to meeting you and have a great rest of your
