New updates to construction project

Various changes have been made in the schedule of work on the heating and cooling systems.

Effective this week (June 2), the fence at Kriner Hall will be expanded to close off the area between Kriner and Old Main. By mid-June, the contractor anticipates closing off much of the quad between Memorial Auditorium, Shearer Hall, Huber Art Center, Kriner Hall, Stewart Hall and Old Main.

Other changes include:

  • Lehman Library parking lot F-9 will be closed starting Wednesday (June 4).  The closure is projected through the end of July.
  • Beginning Wednesday and going through early next week, road and lane closures are planned in area of the intersection of Adams and Cumberland drives. Detours will be in place and metal plates will be installed over excavations as needed.
  • Dauphin access: Starting Wednesday, the construction fence will encompass the Shippen Hall end of Dauphin Humanities Center.  Primary access to Dauphin will be through the main Dauphin/MCT entrance near the center of the buildings. The other exits will be marked for emergency use only.
  • Franklin Science parking lot F-1 is to be closed starting Monday June 16 for several months. Work may start in the area around that lot before then, but the lot will remain open thru June 13.
  • PAC/Heiges/ShipREC area: Work in this area is expected to continue beyond the completion dates previously given and continue at least through the end of June.
