Celebrating Culture
Ship fosters a campus culture that celebrates multiculturalism and diversity. We strive to create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to learn more about diversity and civic responsibility. We value human understanding, especially the appreciation and awareness of cultural, racial, and gender differences. Here are some of the ways we achieve these goals at Ship:
- Students are required to take one course on diversity from a selection of approved courses
- The International Student Organization (ISO) promotes the exchange of cultural and global perspectives and welcomes both international and American students
- International Education Week
- International Film Club and Foreign Film Festival
- French, German, Spanish, and Chinese Language Clubs
- Cultural Orientations throughout the year
