Ship to host 'Women, religion and leadership' panel

SaintsCropOn Oct. 30, at 6:30 p.m., Shippensburg University will host a panel presentation titled “Women, religion, and leadership: Female saints as unexpected leaders.” The event will be held in Old Main chapel and is free and open to the public.

The panel will discuss women identified as saints for their piety and sacrifice from the intersecting context of women as leaders, speakers will discuss various aspects of leadership expressed outside gender expectations by these religious women, and examine the leadership legacies they left behind.

Panelists include Shippensburg University’s Drs. Shari Horner and Barbara Jones Denison as well as Dr. Sally Mayall Brasher, Shepherd University, and Dr. Patrick Hughes, University of Baltimore.
