Summer Financial Aid
You must complete the 2017-2018 FAFSA for summer 2018 and receive a valid Expected Family Contribution (EFC) prior to June 30, 2018. You should also complete the 2018-2019 FAFSA for your fall semester which is the beginning of our next school year.
New students, after being accepted to Shippensburg, go to the admissions portal to activate your account. Once your account is activated, follow the instructions to view what aid you have received or see if you have any missing documents we need to process your aid.
When your aid is ready to view, you will get an email that your aid award is ready to view on your MyShip portal. Look for your aid notification email beginning in April.

Federal Pell grants, federal student loans and alternative student loans may be available to help pay for your undergraduate summer education.
Graduate students are eligible for federal and alternative loans for summer semesters, and may be eligible for other institutional graduate student assistance.
Applications for the Summer Pennsylvania state grant are only available online at www.pheaa.org/tools-resources/account-access/index.shtml. Existing users must log in to their account in the Account Access Username box on the right hand side of the page. New users will need to create an account. Under the SIGN IN button there is a Create account link. Once signed in, students may view their current state grant application and information as well as apply for a state grant for the summer semester. The deadline to apply is August 15th of each year.
Enrollment requirements for the summer state grant program state that students must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits) in courses that meet for a minimum of 5 weeks instruction and at least 50% of the enrolled credits must be coded as in-classroom instruction for the term (coursework coded as online or blended will not count as in-classroom instruction).
The PA state grant program (PHEAA) is limited to 8 full-time semester awards or 4 academic years of funding. Please be advised that if you opt to use a state grant during a summer term that you will be using a portion or all of one of these 8 semesters of eligibility.
