While tuition is higher for out-of-state residents, you may qualify for a significant tuition discount – more than 20% off – if you meet any of the requirements below.

High-Achieving Discount

  • First-year students who earn a 1200 SAT or better (Critical Reading + Critical Math) or who have the GPA equivalent to the top 10% of their high school class.
  • Transfer students who have earned less than 30 college level credits and have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Transfer students who have earned 30 or more college level credits and have a minimum GPA of 2.8.
  • At this year's rate, the savings is $1,873 per semester or $3,746 per year.
  • This discount is the scholarship equivalent to nearly $15,000 during a student's four years at Shippensburg University.

STEM Major Discount

Students who are enrolled in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) or STEM Education major.

  • At this year's rate, the savings is $1,873 per semester or $3,746 per year.

Dual Admission Discount for Transfer Students

Students must be enrolled in a Dual Admission Program with a participating community college.

Please Note: Students who receive the TAP discount must maintain a semester and cumulative minimum GPA of 2.5 until they have earned 30 college-level credits. Once they have earned 30 or more college-level credits, they must maintain a semester and cumulative minimum GPA of 2.8.
