The Children's Fair
Shippensburg University has hosted this event every year since 1982. The fair offers children a variety of games, educational displays, face painting, and entertainment. On average, the fair hosts 1,000 area children between the ages of one and twelve. All of the games and activities are staffed by Shippensburg University student organizations and members of the Shippensburg community. Music is provided by the Shippensburg Area Middle School Jazz Band and by the Shippensburg Town Band. Local elementary and intermediate schools contribute their own artwork for the fair based on fair's theme.
