Tickets numbers set for UG commencement May 10

Based on the current number of participants in the undergraduate commencement ceremony May 10, we have set the number of tickets each graduate will receive if the ceremony is forced indoors.
 
The outdoor ceremony is 11 a.m. in Seth Grove Stadium and no tickets are needed for that ceremony. If inclement weather forces the ceremony indoors, we will have two programs in Heiges Field House. Members of John L. Grove College of Business and the College of Education and Human Services will participate in the 11 a.m. ceremony, and members of the College of Arts and Sciences will participate in the 3 p.m. ceremony. The decision to move indoors will be made by Interim President Harpster as soon as feasible, but no later than 7 a.m. May 10.
 
Graduates in the 11 a.m. ceremony will receive six (6) tickets each. Graduates in the 3 p.m. ceremony will receive eight (8) tickets each. Additional tickets may be available but that won’t be known until all students pick up their tickets. If tickets are available, there will be an additional e-mail with information on how they can be requested.
 
Tickets will be available in the University Store beginning Tuesday (April 29) until the close of business on Friday, May 9. The tickets will then be taken to the CUB information desk area where they will be available at the will-call desk on Saturday, May 10. Store hours are available at http://www.ship.bkstr.com.
 
To get your tickets, you must present your student identification and sign a form that acknowledges you received your tickets. If a family member will pick up your tickets, you must send an e-mail to the bookstore with that person’s name, and that person must also sign for the tickets. Tickets do not guarantee a specific seat, just entrance to the arena. We ask that all guests be seated 30 minutes before the start of either ceremony.
 
LOST TICKETS WILL NOT BE REPLACED AND ONLY TICKET HOLDERS WILL BE ADMITTED TO THE FIELD HOUSE.
 
Alternate viewing sites will be available and no tickets are needed for these sites, including in the CUB. The ceremony will also be broadcast off-campus via the Comcast cable system on Channel 21 in the Shippensburg area.
 
Also, this is a reminder that graduates should make arrangements for seating for guests with special needs via e-mail to SUnews@ship.edu by Friday, May 2. Please include the guest’s name and the name of one person who will sit with him/her, if your guest will use a wheelchair, and your college. An interpreter (signer) will be at the ceremony. If the ceremony is indoors, individuals who use the special seating are REQUIRED to have a ticket, and those tickets are part of your allocation.
