Stone Ridge Commons Apartments

Completed in 1999, Stone Ridge Commons is completely smoke-free and located off Route 696 near Seth Grove Football Stadium. Stone Ridge Commons is considered on-campus housing.

In 2016-17 Shippensburg University Housing and Residence Life will manage units 101 – 119 (18 units) and 201 – 213 (13 units) for a total of 31 units.  The SU Foundation will manage units 214 – 219, 301 – 312 and 401-412 (30 units) 

Each Stone Ridge apartment consists of a bedroom or bedrooms, a living room, a full kitchen with a stove and refrigerator, and one bathroom. Bedroom doors are lockable.

Two Bedrooms
2015-2016 cost is $2,628 per student per semester

Two-bedroom units house two students in each bedroom of the apartment. Cost will be equal to that of a traditional, on-campus residence hall plus a semester charge for utilities (gas, electric, sewer, and water). Utilities charge will be included in the Stone Ridge Commons room fees.

One and Four Bedrooms
2015-2016 cost is $3,767 per student per semester

One-bedroom units house two students in the bedroom of the apartment. Cost will be that of a traditional, on-campus residence hall plus a premium charge, plus a semester charge for utilities (gas, electric, sewer, and water). Premium and utilities charge will be included in the Stone Ridge Commons premium room fees.

Four-bedroom units house one student in each bedroom of the apartment. Cost will be that of a traditional, on-campus residence hall plus a premium charge, plus a semester charge for utilities (gas, electric, sewer, and water). Premium and utilities charge will be included in the Stone Ridge Commons premium room fees.

The utilities and room fees are all inclusive at Stone Ridge Commons.

You are responsible for taking out your own garbage to a dumpster located outside the building).

If you reside at Stone Ridge Commons, you are not required to take a University meal plan.

Stone Ridge Commons is home to 234 male and female students in single-gender apartments. Ship students reside in:

  • (3) one-bedroom units
  • (51) two-bedroom units
  • (6) four-bedroom units   
  • Carpeted and air-conditioned units
  • Sprinkler system and smoke detectors
  • Cable TV service is provided at no additional charge
  • One Internet connection per student, and Internet service is provided at no additional charge
  • Local phone service
  • Facilities include an exercise room, lounges, study rooms, a conference room, and laundry and vending areas
  • Elevator   
  • Living room furniture providing seating for four
  • 30" x 30" pedestal table with two chairs in the kitchen (four-bedroom units have no table)
  • Stove and refrigerator included
  • Beds are standard twin size and can be bunked
  • Bed height can be adjusted between 8 or 30"
