Activist writer to speak March 17

Kevin Powell, political activist and writer, will speak at 7 p.m. March 17 in Old Main Chapel. His talk, "Someday We'll All Be Free: Young America, Voting & The New Activism," is sponsored by the university's Black Heritage Committee. A book signing will follow his talk.

Archives Museum to display student-designed clothing

Clothing made and designed by Shippensburg University students will be on display beginning April 16 at the university's Fashion Archives and Museum.

History students to present women's exhibit March 12

As part of women's history month, Dr. Susan Rimby, a professor in the history/philosophy department, wanted to celebrate by giving her history and women's studies students a project that would involve the local community and go beyond a typical research paper.

University schedules annual Children's Fair for March 28

All area children are invited to Shippensburg University's 27th annual Children's Fair from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 28 in Heiges Field House. The event, sponsored by the Volunteer Service Office, is to foster a good relationship between the university and the off-campus communities. All activities are designed for children ages 1 through 12.

University students to help host ball for senior citizens

The Shippensburg Senior Activities Center and the Shippensburg University student Gerontological Organization, will host their annual Spring Ball for adults age 60 and older April 4 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in Henderson Gymnasium on campus. Tickets are $8 per person or $15 per couple.
