Shippensburg University faculty member to exhibit art in October
“Complex
Simplicity,” an exhibit of drawings and paintings, will be on display in
Kauffman Gallery in Huber Art Center at Shippensburg University Oct. 1 through
25.
The exhibit
includes mixed media drawings, oil, and encaustic paintings created by Michael
Campbell, professor of art & design.
An opening
reception is 3:30 p.m. Oct. 4 in the gallery.
The drawings
combine watercolor, acrylic and ink washes with permanent inks on archival
paper. The images throughout the exhibit are derived from travel experiences in
Italy and study at The Art Students League of New York, New York City. A
feeling of place, time and space exists in these graphic, expressive and
sometimes minimal works of art.
The gallery
is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 9 a.m. to noon and
7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays.
