Why did you choose Shippensburg?

I did not choose Shippensburg University originally but being here I grew to LOVE Ship.  Coming out of high school, my SAT scores were not where they needed to be and Ship granted me partial acceptance through the Academic Success Program in which I was required to complete 2 summer courses in 5 weeks and pass with a “C” or higher.  Passing the 2 course admitted me into the University. Ship was not my first choice- I thought I was going to school in the south and Ship was my safety school as it was the only PA school I applied to.  I made it through ASP, met great friends, professors & other staff, fell in love with the Social Work program and the activities/opportunities it has to offer.  I chose to stay at Ship because I realized how lovely it is.

What is your favorite thing Ship has to offer?

All the fun programs and learning opportunities the school offers.  There are so many leadership opportunities that challenge students and prepare them for after grad opportunities.

If you could give any one piece of advice to incoming students, what would it be?

From day ONE think outside of the box, work like you have nothing and take lots of risks! If you have questions, never be afraid to ask someone. Your future starts now. Be great!
