Hello students! On behalf of the orientation team, I'd like to wish you good luck this semester. We hope your transition to Shippensburg University has gone well thus far. For those of you who will be joining us in January, plans are underway for our spring orientation program and we will soon open up applications for orientation leader positions. First Year Students 

7:30 - 8:40 am
Registration. Great Hall, Ground Floor, Ceddia Union Building (CUB) 0H1

  • Morning Refreshments, Raider Dining Room, CUB 001
  • ID Photos, Anchor Meeting Room 1, CUB 103

  • General Sessions (see below)

7:30 am - 8:45 am or 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
The Service Center. Raider Lounge 5, First Floor, CUB 102

  • Take a few minutes to talk with different services on campus. Representatives will be present to answer your questions and concerns from Athletics, Campus Ministries, Counseling Center, Dining Services, Learning Center, Student Housing/Residence Life, ROTC, Veterans Services, and Sports and Recreation.

7:35 am - 8:00 am or 8:05 am - 8:35 am
General Sessions. Both sessions will be offered at 7:35 am and 8:05 am. Please attend one of the following:

  • Financial Aid General Session. Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) B & C, CUB 100 B & C
    Representatives from Financial Aid and Student Accounts will give a brief presentation and general overview, as well as answer your questions. Both offices will be available all day for individual appointments and more specific concerns at the Money Matters location.
  • Housing and Residence Life. MPR A, CUB 100 A.
    A representative from Housing and Residence Life will give a brief presentation and answer your questions and concerns.

8:45 am - 9:30 am
Opening Session. Luhrs Performing Arts Center (PAC), Theater

  • Greetings from University representatives. Media presentation on academic and campus life issues. Review of orientation materials and program schedule following presentation.

9:45 am - Noon
Students Meet with Academic Dean and Faculty. MPR B & C, CUB 100 B & C

Academic Advisement and Class Registration. Students will receive direction from the Dean's meeting on locations for advisement and instruction on registration for courses.

Noon - 1:00 pm or 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Lunch. Parents and Students. Reisner Dining Hall, Main Dining Room
Students will need the ticket provided at registration for entrance to lunch. Guest lunch tickets may be purchased at this time for $8.20.
 

Meet Your Shipmates: Get Acquainted with Your New College Friends. Academic Quad (located on the lawn in front of the Ezra Lehman Memorial Library)

  • All students are expected to participate. (Rain or heat location: ShipRec)

2:10 pm - 3:30 pm
Peer Discussions. MPR B & C, CUB 100 B & C

  • An opportunity to discuss social adjustment and academic success with your classmates and current Shippensburg students.

3:45 pm 
Closing.
PAC, Theater. The end is as important as the beginning. Join us for this brief session that will include:

    Representatives will provide  information regarding Career Center services, workshops, career fairs, campus job opportunities, and internships.

Ask Me? Let’s Make Some Connections! McFeely’s Coffeehouse, CUB 024.
New Ship students will have the opportunity to connect with current students to learn more about career and job, involvement and leadership, and experiential learning opportunities as well as stuff to do on campus and in the area community. Assorted snacks will be available; you don’t want to miss an opportunity to enter the prize drawings and free giveaways!
