ShipRec Desk Staff:
Staff work both the entrance desk and the cardio/strength desk in ShipRec. General responsibilities include access management, policy enforcement, marketing and promotion, membership sales, equipment distribution, maintaining the cleanliness of the ShipRec
cardio/strength area (i.e. cleaning cardio and strength equipment, equipment inspection, reporting equipment damage, and monitoring the proper operation of equipment), and emergency response. Hours are scheduled based upon staff availability.
Group Fitness Instructor:
Instructors are responsible for planning and instructing safe, fun and effective group fitness classes, supervising group fitness participants, and creating a supportive exercise environment. Hours are flexible around instructor and room availability
Intramural staff are responsible for the facilitation of all intramural sports activities. Duties include game organization and roster management, officiating, equipment distribution, policy and rule enforcement, emergency/injury response, scorekeeping, and ensuring a
safe playing environment. Shifts are typically Sunday through Thursday 6pm to midnight.
Assigned to the Heiges Field House pool. Duties include performing life-saving duties as needed, monitoring and enforcing pool rules and policies, maintaining order and cleanliness within the pool area, managing pool access, and ensuring proper opening and closing of the
facility. Current lifeguard and CPR/First Aid certification required. The Department recognizes the American Red Cross, the YMCA and Jeff Ellis and Associates, Inc. as lifeguard certifying authorities. Shifts are typically Monday through Friday 12p-2p and 6p-10p.
