You must apply for graduation prior to the beginning of your final semester at Shippensburg University. The graduation application is available by logging into myShip. Select the Student tab. Under Graduation Tools, select Apply to Graduate.
An application fee of $25 per Bachelor's degree or $50 per Master's degree is required online at the time you apply for graduation. Payment may be made by electronic check (e-check) or credit card. If paying by credit card, please note that there is a 2.5% convenience fee. After making payment, please be sure to click the CONTINUE button. You will then be directed to the Graduation Application Signature Page. You will need to print out the Graduation Application Signature Page. Please sign, date, and return this form to the Registrar’s Office, OM Room 111. Additionally, you can fax this form to 717-477-1388 Attn: Tara, scan and email the form to email@example.com or mail it to Shippensburg University, Registrar’s Office, 1871 Old Main Drive, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
The application deadline for December and January Graduation is Friday, August 1, 2014. January graduates are permitted to participate in the December Commencement Ceremony but must apply for January graduation.
When your application for graduation with a bachelor's degree is submitted to the Registrar's Office, it will be forwarded to your academic dean. Your dean's office will notify you if there are any problems with your bachelor's degree application.
When your application for graduation with a master's degree is submitted to the Registrar's Office, it will be forwarded to your major department. Your department office will notify you if there are any problems with your master's degree application.
Information regarding the Commencement ceremony, including instructions for students, parents, and guests will be available on the homepage approximately 2-3 weeks prior to the ceremony.
Attire for the Commencement ceremony may be purchased at the Shippensburg University Bookstore.
Diplomas are mailed to students within six weeks after the Commencement ceremony.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you fail to meet the requirements for graduation, it will be your responsibility to reapply for graduation in the term in which the requirements will be met. Note: The application fee is paid only once.
MASTER'S THESIS must be presented in its final approved format to the Registrar's Office no later than 4 weeks prior to the commencement ceremony. Master's degree students completing a thesis may verify deadline dates by contacting the Registrar's Office.
