MAT in STEM Education

Become a Business Teacher

Students Business Classroom Ben Shenk 2014

The MAT in STEM Education is designed for professionals and recent college graduates who already hold a degree in science, math, or business and who wish to teach science, math, or business education in a middle school or high school setting.  STEM stands for Science, Business Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

To teach business, you need to have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in any major (preferably from an AACSB-accredited business school).  Students will complete a sequence of six courses followed by a 12-week student teaching practicum. Students will also complete and present a research project and a comprehensive teaching portfolio.

As a business teacher, you will be using your experiences in your collegiate business program and your applicable real-world experience to teach classes that are relevant to everyone in the education system, no matter their future plans.  You are their bridge between school and the business community.
