Random Education ImagesWelcome to Extended Studies

The mission of the Office of Extended Studies is to develop and offer quality credit programming through various methods and locations that meet the educational and professional needs of the region. Utilizing faculty members and area professionals, our programs and services continue to provide a combination of the latest research and real world expertise that are both cutting edge and practical.

Message from the Dean

Welcome to the Office of Extended Studies at Shippensburg University.

Dr. SaxThe Office of Extended Studies works with Shippensburg University's three academic colleges to deliver a variety of courses and programs, all of which provide access to higher education through non-traditional avenues.

For working adults and individuals located off-campus, the office offers bachelors and masters degree completion programs and graduate certificates in several fields, including administration, biology, business, counseling, criminal justice, education, information technology, management and social work.

For educators, the office offers additional professional development opportunities, including the K-12 Educators Institute and the Advanced Placement Academy.  Pennsylvania educators in particular will find opportunities to fulfill their Act 48 requirements.

For students interested in online classes, the office is the first stop to register for such a class in the summer and winter terms.

Take some time to explore our website and learn about the many ways that you can extend your education!  The Office of Extended Studies runs programs where needed and when needed.  If you don't see what you're looking for, then contact us (via email at extended@ship.edu or via the inquiry form at  https://info.ship.edu/services/app/cohort/cohort-inq.cgi) so that we can explore your area of interest and determine how Shippensburg University can best meet your needs.
