Alison Feeney is a Professor in the Geography and Earth Science Department at Shippensburg University. She earned B. A. degrees in both history and geography from the University of Connecticut, a M.S from Portland State University, and a Ph.D. from Michigan State University. She truly loves to blend work with pleasure as she travels around Pennsylvania.
Alison’s background is in map design and graphic communication and she loves to apply that knowledge to examine her surroundings. She has a particular interest in the cultural heritage and agritourism of craft beer, cider, wine and spirits-of which Pennsylvania has no end of great examples.
Her love of the coral reefs and their diverse ecosystem leads her on several diving exhibitions a year where she studies, kills, and eats invasion lionfish in the Caribbean.
She teaches a variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, including GIS, Cartography, Mapping Science, World Regional Geography, and the Geography of the United States and Canada.
