Human Resources
Shippensburg University's Human Resources Office provides a broad scope of services to the University's employees and students. Services include administrative functions which impact the operation in highly visible ways such as recruiting and placing non-instructional employees. The office also provides support to University employees through classification, compensation, payroll, personnel transactions, records, employee benefits, employee relations, and training and development.
The Human Resource professionals at Shippensburg University regard diversity and inclusion as foundational principles of institutional excellence. We recognize and affirm the value that multiple perspectives bring to higher education to support its role in developing a future global workforce. We use the following strategies to help build a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment.
Recruitment and retention of a workforce that represents a diverse population and various perspectives.
Development of cultural competence within the campus community by promoting effective and respectful engagement across the intersections of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, religion and socio-economic status. This is accomplished through targeted programming as well as supervisory training.
Fostering dialog within the campus community to raise awareness of ways that inclusivity can be improved.
Recognizing that worksite wellness includes cultural competence as an expression of social wellness.
